#209 - St. Thomas

Heather and I just got back from a fabulous trip to St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.  The trip was Mike's idea (Heather's husband), and I was thrilled to help plan it and surprise Heather with another girl's weekend.  We flew out early Saturday morning and returned late Tuesday night, so we had plenty of time to catch up, relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy some Caribbean water.

Taken Saturday evening at our hotel, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean

This was one of our favorite spots - relaxing by one of the Marriott pools, overlooking the ocean and just a few steps away from the in-pool bar.
There were iguanas like this all over the hotel.  They were not afraid of people at all, and even went for a swim in the pools.

On Sunday afternoon, we took a ferry over to St. John

Heather and I have taken numerous girl's trips together (I think we are at 9 now?).  Each trip, we are consistently asked if we are sisters.  We always laugh and say "almost, but no."  Well, on this trip, not only were we asked if we were sisters, we were asked at least eight times if we were identical twins!  ha ha!  It must be because our hair is cut very similarly and we were wearing sunglasses most of the time.  But, it is certainly a compliment to me!  :-)  Check out the picture below - what do you think?
On Monday, we took a private charter tour of the British Virgin Islands.  It was the highlight of our trip.  We  snorkeled, hiked through The Baths at Virgin Gorda, ate lunch at a private restaurant on Cooper Island, and then hung out on Jost Van Dyke.

I think this is Tortolla, BVI

Snorkeling at Virgin Gorda.  Owen was mad that I did not bring him home a real fish.

#70 - We love the Flemings!

Heather, Mike, Andrew, Luke and Lauren Fleming came to Savannah to visit us, and we had such a great time!  This was our first time meeting little Lauren, and she is a sweet, happy, beautiful little girl.  She's 12 weeks old and absolutely adorable!!!!  Of course, Heather and Mike produce nothing but gorgeous children, so I expected nothing less...  :)
We took them up to the neighborhood pool where the big slide provided hours of entertainment for Andrew and Luke while Heather, Owen, Lauren and I lounged near the water.
We are already missing them, and hoping they will be able to stop by again next weekend on their way home from Hilton Head.
Speaking of Hilton Head, we've quickly adjusted back to the "real world" after our vacay at the beach.  Back to work for us, and back to the routine of every day life.  Secretly, I was so worried that between the trip to Michigan and the trip to Hilton Head, Owen would regress back into bad sleeping habits.  However, thank goodness he did not - he's still sleeping like a champ!  11 hours straight at night and two 90-minute naps during the day.  I love it!!!  The mood in the Saez household is greatly influenced by the quality of Owen's sleep, so I'm happy to report that we're all smiles around here.
Speaking of smiles....just five more days until the BIG DAY!  That's right....Owen turns one-year old this Friday.  I start tearing up every time I think about it.  I cannot believe our sweet little baby is on the eve of toddlerhood.  Fortunately, to keep my emotions at bay, I have been busy planning his first birthday celebration.  We're having a small family get-together next Saturday, and of course, there are hundreds of little things to do before the party.
Okay, on to picture time.  And, I realize I haven't posted video in a while, but will do soon, I promise!
Introducing.... Miss Lauren Elizabeth Fleming

Pictures from our trip to the Pool where Mike and Heather took turns taking Luke down the slide

Look how awesome Heather looks after three babies, one of whom is only 12 weeks old. (Heather, don't shoot me for posting a picture of you in a bathing suit)

Little Lauren was content as can be sleeping in her car seat with her own personal fan!

Luke, Owen and Andrew managed to sit still for about 4 seconds while we snapped a picture or two!

Speaking of not sitting still, Owen has turned into a climber.  He climbs up on everything, whether it's boxes, chairs or Cocoa.

Love,
Katie, Lou and Owen
