#92 - Thanksgiving, Part I

We were blessed to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with our Michigan familia this year.  As is typical for us, we packed up nearly half the house before heading to the airport.  Boy, babies need SO MUCH stuff!  On this trip, big boy Owen got his very own seat on the airplane.  When we booked the 11:55 am departure, I thought, "what a perfect take off time....he'll sleep the entire time."  ha ha!  Nope.  Little guy fell asleep exactly as the plane wheels touched ground again.  Of course.  But, he was a trooper, regardless.

The reunion with Abuela Isa and the Tylutkis was as sweet as ever.  They couldn't believe how big he's gotten.  And, Noah and Grace are the perfect cousins.  Our trip was so much easier because of how they played with Owen.  Owen is very lucky!

Okay, on to picture time....

On Sunday, we went to Prima Elena's for Churros.  Owen got to play with Sofia and Gabriela, as well as Matthew and Jacob.  It was very sweet to watch all of them coloring on the floor.

We also went over to Tito Joe and Tita Jan's house that afternoon, where we got to visit the "Man Cave"..... 9,600 s.f. of testoterone heaven.

On Wednesday, we went to one of Noah's basketball games.  Owen was quite captivated by all the moving balls, the whistles and lights.  And, he loved playing with Tita Susan on the court.  Noah did awesome, by the way!  He's improved so much since the last game we went to.

After the game, we headed home for a night full of COOKING!  Lots and lots of cooking!  All under the direction of super chef, Tito Mark, who is a fabulous cook and loves to teach.  No high fructose corn syrup in his kitchen!  Look.....we even got Lou into the kitchen to prepare for Thanksgiving.

#91 - More Videos

Okay, so many of you were unable to see the YouTube video (which was mucho cute, if I do say so myself), so here are more videos. I made them shorter, which means I can upload through this website.

As for an update on us....well, we're just doing fine. Lou's getting in the last few fishing trips of the season (which have been pretty unsuccessful). I'm still traveling like crazy (going to Columbus this week). And, Owen, well....he's the cutest darn thing ever. He's such a smiley, happy baby, who runs all over the place now. The last two or three weeks have been pretty amazing with his development. He understands much of what we say, and can follow commands and tell us what he wants. When he wants milk, he'll walk over the the refrigerator and bang on the door. When wants to be read to, he'll carefully peruse the books, pick out his favorite, then bring it over to us, sit in our lap and giggle when you start reading to him. Pretty cute.

Anyway, we're getting ready for Thanksgiving, and have all of our warm clothes laid out.

#90 - Say Dada!

Sorry it's taken so long to post this week. I kept trying, over and over, to share this adorable video with you. After about ten tries, I realized the video size was too large, so I had to upload via YouTube. I hope you can see it okay. Love and kisses to you all!

#89 - Ghosts, Goblins and Gators

This year, Halloween fell on the same day as the Florida/Georgia football game. What were two parents to do???? Well, with a little creative time management, we tried to enjoy both! Friday afternoon, in our annual tradition, we loaded the car up for a ride to Jacksonville. En route to Mom's house, we stopped by the marina to visit with Aunt Kay, Uncle Joe, Dad, Catherine and Papa (pictures below). Owen got to see the family and show off his adorableness (is that even a word?), while Lou and I started our pregame tailgating 24 hours in advance of kickoff.

Saturday morning, we got the munchkins dressed up in their costumes - a pair of pumpkins. Kaylin and Owen didn't know what to think of the ridiculousness of their costumes, but managed to sit still for a little photo op.

Owen thought it was fun to run around the yard like a runaway pumpkin.

Owen's rocking the Gator hat! Mom graciously agreed to watch Kaylin and Owen ALL DAY Saturday while Lou and I went to the game. She handled it like a true pro, and Kaylin and Owen had so much fun playing together. She even managed to take them Trick or Treating by herself!

Meanwhile, while Owen was enjoying Halloween, Lou and I were back downtown taking in the festivities of the Florida/Georgia Football Classic. Papa managed to score an interview with the very attractive Dagmar Midcap.

And, finally, at the game. It was nearly 90 degrees at the game, and we about melted. But, the game was great, the seats were fantastic, and the company couldn't have been beat. We had 8 seats, and here's a picture of Dad, Papa, me, and Joe - all four of us Florida alum.

On Sunday morning, we headed back down to the marina, and this time, we enjoyed a boat ride around town. Owen got to drive the boat - I think Dad enjoyed showing Owen driving more than Owen did! :)

But, we had a WONDERFUL weekend! The Gators won 41-17, and it was so nice to see everyone.
